Exudative Dermatitis can be treated

Brushtail Possums can get a disease that is brought on by stress called Exudative Dermatitis or commonly called mange disease. The stress such as lack of food, overcrowding and loss of habitat (cutting down trees) one of the factors for this disease. A possum suffering from dermatitis can be treated and saved, so please ring Wildcare NT for rescue or drop it off to us.

As you can see if one of our current patients, with medication, food and TLC these possums are be released again. Most of our possums go into the Wildcare NT release program, they will be released outside Darwin into suitable areas.
